The Howard Johnson Plaza by Wyndham by the Falls is one of the very few properties within Niagara Falls that doesn’t add any hidden fees or surcharges for the services and amenities that we feel should be included with your stay, such as full use of our pools, hot rub, and fitness center, as well as our robust high-speed WiFi, microwaves and fridges within the guestrooms and all other amenities that you would expect to be included in our advertised rate.  We want our guests to feel comfortable that when you arrive and check-in to our wonderful property that you are not surprised with any additional hidden fees that you did not budget for, therefore the price you see is the price you pay (excluding government HST and municipal tax, and $20 parking charge per night per vehicle, if applicable). 

Niagara Falls Municipal Accommodation Tax

Effective January 1, 2019, the City of Niagara Falls passed By-law No. 2018–104 on to implement a mandatory Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT). The tax is calculated at a rate of $2.00 per night of occupancy. The Municipal Accommodation Tax applies to the purchase of accommodations provided for a continuous period of 30 days or less. Howard Johnson Plaza collects this tax in accordance with the by-law.
